Triumph Stag

Did the Stag have the rover engine in it?

  1. No it didn't, it had a Triumph designed V8 with a capacity of 3 ltr and some 145 bhp. The engine is a 'double' version of two Dolomite 4 cylinder engines 'glued' together.
The V8 is a great engine, but suffered a badly designed cooling system which lead to overheating and blown head gaskets. Nowadays with a bigger radiator and cooling fluids, this problem is overcome.
